The pitch at Old Trafford in Manchester facilitates an equal battle between bat and ball. The new ball bowlers get some early swing, but as the game goes on, the pitch gets easier to bat on and the batters take full advantage once set.
The third match of the second edition of The Hundred Women’s tournament will be played between Manchester Originals and Trent Rockets with the former hosting the fixture.
The Manchester Originals will be led by pacer Kate Cross this time, while all-rounder Natalie Sciver will be in charge of the Trent Rockets.
There must be high expectations that the Rockets can vastly improve on their second-last finish from the previous season now that star players Katherine Brunt and Sciver will be joined by Alana King and Mignon du Preez.
The star of the Manchester squad is without a doubt Sophie Ecclestone. Watch out for the No. 1 T20 bowler in the world, as well as Lizelle Lee, who is back after placing among the competition’s top scorers in 2021.
Recent England debutante Emma Lamb, who is in excellent form, is also on the team as the Originals look like a strong side too.
