Sarfaraz’s leadership credentials extend beyond the Champions Trophy triumph, as he also guided Pakistan through 11 consecutive T20I series victories, defeating top cricketing nations like Australia, New Zealand, and England.

Calls for a National Team Role
Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has suggested that Sarfaraz Ahmed should be appointed as a mentor for the national team ahead of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Ali emphasized Sarfaraz’s past contributions and his ability to inspire young players, stating that Pakistan’s success in the 2017 Champions Trophy was largely due to Sarfaraz’s leadership.
Pakistan is currently lagging behind in their preparations for the 2025 Champions Trophy and has yet to finalize their squad for the tournament, even though the deadline has already passed. This situation raises concerns, and appointing an experienced figure like Sarfaraz as a mentor could prove beneficial.
