As the chairman and managing director of JSW Group and a co-owner of the IPL team Delhi Capitals, Jindal’s gesture aims to celebrate and motivate the Indian athletes at the ongoing games. On August 2, Jindal publicly confirmed his generous commitment on social media, demonstrating his support for the country’s Olympians and their remarkable achievements.

In a generous move, Sajjan Jindal, chairman of JSW Group, has declared that he will present a brand-new MG Windsor car to each Indian medalist at the Paris Olympics 2024. This initiative, part of a collaboration between JSW Group and Morris Garages India, highlights Jindal’s commitment to celebrating the achievements of the Indian athletes. Announcing his gesture on X (formerly Twitter), Jindal expressed his intention to reward the medalists for their exceptional hard work and dedication, aiming to honor their remarkable contributions on the global stage.
Sajjan Jindal’s JSW Group, which holds a 50 percent stake in partnership with GMR Sports, co-owns the Delhi Capitals franchise in the IPL. Additionally, JSW Sports manages the Pretoria Capitals in SA20, the Dubai Capitals in ILT20, and Bengaluru FC in the ISL.
In the IPL 2024 season, the Delhi Capitals finished with seven wins and seven losses from 14 league matches. Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, who made a return as captain, the team did not advance to the playoffs and ended up sixth on the points table.
Recently, the owners of Delhi Capitals attended a significant meeting at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai to discuss player retention policies and the upcoming mega auction for the IPL 2025 season.
