Mumbai Indians Nuwan Thushara Out of India T20Is Due to Injury
Sri Lanka’s rising pace star, Nuwan Thushara, has been sidelined from the upcoming T20I series against India due to a finger injury. Thushara, a right-arm fast bowler, was anticipated to play a key role in leading Sri Lanka’s bowling attack alongside his teammate Matheesha Pathirana. His absence will be a significant setback for the Lankan side as they prepare for the three-match series against India.
Nuwan Thushara Excluded from India T20Is Due to Finger Injury
Nuwan Thushara, the 29-year-old fast bowler, has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against India due to a broken finger sustained during a training session. The injury will require a substantial recovery period, preventing Thushara from participating in the series.
In Thushara’s absence, left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka has been called up to replace him in Sri Lanka’s squad for the India T20Is. Thushara’s exclusion is a significant blow to Sri Lanka’s plans, as he was known for his ability to swing the new ball effectively and deliver precise yorkers in the death overs.
Thushara recently demonstrated his skill in the Lanka Premier League, where he claimed eight wickets in seven matches with an impressive strike rate of 18.75. This injury marks the second setback for Sri Lanka in their preparations for the India T20Is, as fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has also been ruled out of the tour.
