In a recent interview on the Willow Talk podcast, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald, Mitchell Starc, a prominent figure in white-ball cricket, revealed his surprise at being left out of the Super 8 match against Afghanistan. He expressed that he had not anticipated being dropped from the team for such a crucial match.
Starc also indirectly conveyed his frustration over not being selected to play against Afghanistan, who are led by Rashid Khan. His remarks suggest disappointment with the decision made by the team management for that particular game.
“No, it’s about two consecutive World Cups. They reviewed previous matches at the St. Vincent ground, where spin was influential. The presence of Ash and the left-arm bowler prompted them to alter their strategy. Ash performed admirably during the power play.
