Corbin Bosch Served Legal Notice by PCB for PSL 2025 Contract Breach

PCB Takes Legal Action Against Corbin Bosch Over PSL Withdrawal
South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has found himself in legal trouble after receiving a formal notice from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for breaching his contractual obligations. The 30-year-old cricketer was initially set to play for Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 but withdrew after receiving an offer to join the Mumbai Indians (MI) as a replacement player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The PCB has accused Bosch of failing to honor his commitment to the PSL and has demanded an official explanation regarding his decision to withdraw from the tournament.
Corbin Bosch’s PSL Withdrawal and IPL Opportunity
Bosch Joins Mumbai Indians After Lizaad Williams’ Injury
Corbin Bosch was initially drafted as a key player for Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2025. However, his plans took a sudden turn when Mumbai Indians (MI) selected him as a replacement for Lizaad Williams, who was ruled out of IPL 2025 due to injury.

The IPL, scheduled to run from March 22 to May 25, 2025, directly overlaps with the PSL 2025 season, which is set to take place from April 11 to May 25, 2025. With both leagues running concurrently, Bosch made the decision to pull out of the PSL to prioritize his IPL contract.
However, his withdrawal did not sit well with the PCB, which views his action as a breach of contract.
PCB’s Response: Legal Notice and Potential Consequences
PCB Demands Justification from Bosch
In an official statement released on Sunday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that a legal notice had been served to Corbin Bosch through his agent.
“The legal notice was served through his agent, and the player has been asked to justify his actions of withdrawing from his professional and contractual commitments,” the PCB stated.
The cricket board has also warned Bosch about the possible repercussions of his abrupt departure from the league and expects a formal response within a stipulated timeframe.
Impact on PSL and Future Player Commitments
The incident raises questions about player commitments to domestic T20 leagues and how contractual agreements are enforced across different tournaments. The clash between PSL and IPL schedules has once again brought attention to the challenges franchises face in securing top international talent.
With PCB taking a strong stance against Bosch, other players may also face stricter contractual enforcement in the future to prevent similar cases of last-minute withdrawals.
