Chamari Athapaththu to Captain Sri Lanka in Asia Cup T20
Vishmi Gunaratne, the 18-year-old opener who demonstrated remarkable maturity during the South Africa tour, has been retained. Kavisha Dilhari, the middle-order batter who performed well on that tour, is also included. Additionally, 26-year-old Harshitha Samarawickrama, whose composed half-century in the decisive third T20I secured the series win, is part of the squad.

Sri Lanka lost the T20I series to the West Indies but secured a 3-0 victory in the ODI series.
Heading into the tournament, Sri Lanka is considered one of the top contenders, having achieved notable victories against England and South Africa in away T20I series over the past year.
