After losing opener Ryan Rickelton early to Bjorn Fortuin’s left-arm spin, MICT relied on Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen to stabilize the innings. The duo, who had struggled for form earlier in the tournament, found rhythm at Newlands. Van der Dussen broke the shackles with a massive six off Mujeeb Ur Rahman, while Hendricks’ precise cuts and powerful strokes dominated the scoring.

The partnership flourished, adding 79 runs for the second wicket. Hendricks brought up his half-century with a flurry of boundaries but departed shortly after, triggering a minor collapse as MICT lost three wickets in quick succession.

Delano Potgeiter launched Lungi Ngidi’s slower balls into the stands, and the team capitalized on wayward bowling from Kwena Maphaka, whose over yielded 16 runs.
