South Africa Announces T20 Squad for West Indies Series, Excludes Aiden Markram and David Miller
Cricket South Africa (CSA) has unveiled a 15-player squad for the men’s T20I series against the West Indies. The three-match series will take place in Jamaica from May 23 to May 26, acting as a warm-up for both teams before the 2024 T20 World Cup next month.
Aiden Markram, designated to captain South Africa in the World Cup, is rested for this series along with David Miller. In their absence, Rassie van der Dussen will step in as the Proteas captain for the short tour.

In preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024 next month, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has decided to rest several senior players from their 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series in the West Indies. Notable absences include David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, and regular limited-overs captain Aiden Markram.

All three T20I matches will be held at Sabina Park in Jamaica on May 23, May 25, and May 26. Following the series, South African players will engage in an intra-squad match in Florida to prepare for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The Proteas are placed in Group D of the tournament, facing Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Netherlands. Led by Aiden Markram, South Africa will kick off their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York on June 3.
