Babar Azam Eager for the England Series: Anticipating the Upcoming Challenge
Under the leadership of Babar Azam, Pakistan triumphed over Ireland in a 2-1 series victory after a challenging start. Shaheen Afridi, demonstrating exceptional form, earned the Man of the Series title for his outstanding performance.
Next, Pakistan is set to compete against world champions England in a crucial four-game T20 series. This series is vital for the inaugural T20 World Cup finalists as they gear up for the T20 World Cup, beginning in June in the West Indies and USA.
Since the start of the year, Pakistan has been rigorously preparing for the World Cup, with special training sessions at Kakul for the players. Shaheen Afridi, previously the captain, was succeeded by Babar Azam in the leadership role.
Earlier, Pakistan drew a home series 2-2 against a relatively weaker New Zealand team, sparking significant criticism after losing two matches. Following this, Pakistan traveled to Ireland for another series.
Despite a setback in the first game against a less formidable Ireland team, which is also in their World Cup group, Pakistan staged a strong comeback to clinch the series 2-1.
