Cummins Expresses Confidence in SRH’s Swift Recovery Following Heavy Defeat Against CSK
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced a significant loss against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk. CSK set a formidable target of 212/3 in 20 overs while batting first. SRH struggled in their response, managing only 134 runs before being bowled out in the 19th over.
While numerous stadiums in this IPL are known for their batting-friendly conditions, Chepauk distinguishes itself by offering support to bowlers as well. CSK’s home ground is one such venue where bowlers can thrive.
In the match against SRH, CSK managed to contain SRH’s potent batters, who are renowned for their ability to achieve high scores.
Despite the defeat against CSK, SRH captain Pat Cummins maintains confidence in his team’s batting prowess.
“We were impressed with their batting performance to reach 210, but we believed in our batting lineup and the pitch conditions. We’re satisfied with our batting lineup’s performance so far. Each player has contributed and won us matches in the tournament. Despite the dew factor, which was present in both innings, we remain confident and will bounce back swiftly.”
IPL 2024 Playoff scenarios for SRH
After the win, CSK moved up to the 3rd spot, while SRH dropped to the 4th position in the IPL table standings.
