Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a thrilling four-run win against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 40 of IPL 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday.
Delhi Capitals opted to bat first and posted a commanding total of 224/4. Skipper Rishabh Pant led from the front with a blistering 88 off 43 balls, while Axar Patel contributed a solid 66 off 43. Jake Fraser-McGurk and Tristan Stubbs also chipped in with explosive cameos.
In response to the massive target, Gujarat Titans relied on Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan after an early dismissal of captain Shubman Gill. Despite their efforts, both batsmen fell quickly. Tristan Stubbs provided the final flourish to Delhi Capitals’ innings with a quick cameo

The final over was filled with drama as Gujarat needed 19 runs off the last 6 balls. Rashid Khan stepped up and started the over with consecutive boundaries, followed by a six off the penultimate ball, bringing the equation down to five runs off the final ball.
However, despite Rashid Khan’s valiant effort, he could not hit the winning shot and remained unbeaten on 21* off 11 balls as Gujarat Titans fell short by just 4 runs.
