BCCI Penalizes KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad for Slow Over-Rate in LSG vs. CSK Match – IPL 2024
The IPL committee has fined Lokesh Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Ruturaj Gaikwad, the skipper of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), 12 lakhs each for breaching the IPL code of conduct.
During the Ekana clash last night, both the Lucknow Super Giants and the Chennai Super Kings failed to maintain the required over rate. This led to both teams being penalized for the first time this season for not meeting the IPL’s minimum over-rate requirements.
LSG Return to Winning Form
In a convincing victory, the Lucknow Super Giants secured an impressive 8-wicket win over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), ending their streak of consecutive losses.
The match quickly turned in favor of LSG in the second innings, with skipper Lokesh Rahul and Quinton De Kock leading the charge.
Chennai batted first and set a target of 177 runs, thanks to MS Dhoni’s strong finish. LSG started their chase strongly, particularly with their openers performing well. KL Rahul scored a magnificent 82, while De Kock contributed 54 runs off 43 balls.
With their stellar performance, LSG comfortably won the match by eight wickets with six balls to spare.
